Tropical Decorating with Room Dividers

Whether you live in Florida or San Diego, or maybe you live in the Midwest but you want to warm up your home décor, tropical style decorating is a great way to go!

When decorating the home with a tropical theme in mind, there are two roads you can take.  The first is color.  The second is texture.  One way to give your home a tropical vibe is to pick a colorful piece of décor, and even better if it has a tropical theme painting or photo with it.  For example, the Paradise Screen.

This room divider has very obvious tropical style with its sandy beach and palm tree photograph that is blown up and stretched to the size of a room screen.  Another great thing about this screen is the color.  That stunning aqua blue sky is sure to liven up the home with soothing, calming tropical style.

Textures Achieve Style

A less obvious way to achieve tropical style décor in the home is to carefully choose textures.  When I think of a tropical resort, I imagine lots of natural woven materials are helping to give it its look.  The Braided Rope Room Divider is a great example of this style of décor.  Other places to incorporate the natural material look into your home?  Woven roman shades are great for providing privacy and shade on the windows and are quite affordable.  Also, don’t forget about woven baskets!  Baskets can be used for virtually any type of storage around the home, from the bathroom to the kitchen and anywhere in between.

Tropical Color

And finally, a simple splash of tropical color around the home works wonders to give you that resort feel.  For example, brightly colored fabrics on your throw pillows and blankets help to liven up a dull living room and creating an accent wall is an easy and affordable way to add color to the home as well.
